'BOOST' TECHNOLOGY: TAKING HEATED GLOVES & HAND COMFORT TO A DIFFERENT LEVEL

At Therm-ic, we are inspired by the great sportsmen and mountaineers we work with and equip. That's why progress and innovation are part of our DNA. 'Boost' technology is the fruit of this perpetual quest to reach the highest peaks, an improvement on what we already have, the 'Ultra Heat' technology.

(OPTION) When it's cold, the body automatically implements a thermoregulation mechanism whereby it reserves most of its energy for the most important organs, namely the brain, heart, lungs and, more generally, the entire human trunk. The extremities of the body, such as the feet and especially the hands, are then neglected and receive less blood supply, in order to benefit the vital organs. For us, whether in the performance of the mountaineer or the pleasure of the skier, this thermal comfort is vital. And that's why we've developed Boost technology, capable of taking warm hands to where they've never been before, to the "Great Cold", at -30°C.

It took an impressive number of hours - in the mountains testing prototypes, and in the lab perfecting them - for our R&D team and our athletes to achieve this innovative heating system in terms of its power, efficiency and practicality.

What makes the 'Boost' heating system a small revolution in the arena of heated gloves?

- A much faster 5.5-hour battery charge, compared to the previous 8 hours. Ideal for those short nights at altitude!

- A significantly increased heating power (x 1.5) to heat faster and more intensely. This is thanks to a new 7.5 W heating element, compared with the previous 5 W.

- Still 3 heating levels to adjust the intensity of the heat to best suit the external conditions and therefore prolong battery life.

- An optimised air flow circulation network inside the glove so that the entire hand receives 360° warmth.

- An ultralight battery that is very practical for sports where there is often a problem of weight, and the smallest gram saving can soon become a crucial issue.

- A new pocket designed to accommodate not one but two batteries, to multiply the heating time and extend the system's effectiveness over long periods.
