A rope team celebrating the spirit of the mountains and sharing
From 4 to 8 November in Grenoble, a passion for the mountains and the spirit of adventure will be celebrated during this iconic event. Thanks to Rencontres Ciné Montagne, the capital of the Alps will become – for one (long) weekend – the beating heart of the outdoor community. More than just a sports film festival, this event is a popular and unifying celebration that promotes and makes accessible the values of the mountains.
With a shared vision and geographical proximity to Isère, Therm-ic has decided to officially partner with the 27th edition of this cornerstone event of mountain culture. Through this partnership, we aim to strengthen Therm-ic's image as a company committed to enthusiasts as a partner in comfort rather than simply a supplier of equipment.
Les Rencontres Ciné Montagne: what is it? Why is Therm-ic becoming an official partner? What values do we share and wish to promote? How can you find Therm-ic during the festival? All the answers to these questions can be found in the article below.
‘More than just an outdoor film festival, this event is a popular and unifying celebration that promotes and makes accessible the values of the mountains.’
"Strengthen Therm-ic's image as a company that is committed to enthusiasts as a partner in comfort rather than simply a supplier of equipment. ‘
The Rencontres Ciné Montagne are a must-see event for all lovers of nature, high altitudes and inspiring human stories. For more than 25 years, it has celebrated the stories of women and men who live, explore and document the mountains with passion.
This iconic event – eagerly awaited by everyone in Grenoble and beyond – marks the start of winter, feeding the appetite and imagination of all those who long for the snow.
But beyond a simple film festival, the Rencontres Ciné Montagne also acts as a place of engagement, with a mission to make the mountains accessible by promoting their values and unifying spirit to as many people as possible.
Damien Cousquer, director of the “Mission Montagne” in the city of Grenoble, sums up this societal challenge perfectly: "More than ever, we want to embody the word “encounter”. We want this moment to be convivial and festive. We want it to stimulate exchange and encourage sharing. "
This 27th edition will therefore offer the following at the Palais des Sports in Grenoble, from 4 to 8 November 2025:
"More than ever, we want to embody the word “encounter”. We want this event to be friendly and festive. We want it to stimulate exchange and encourage sharing. ‘
Florence Destin, Head of Operational Marketing at the Sidas World Group, explains the ins and outs of this partnership: ’Several factors make this partnership a natural and authentic one."
The first reason why this collaboration is so obvious is the similarity in values. Rencontres Ciné Montagne and Therm-ic share much more than a love of the mountains: "We are united by the same vision. To make the mountains accessible, inspiring and sustainable. Our products are designed to support all practitioners, offering comfort and performance, whatever their activity and in all conditions. This festival, which showcases several disciplines – including steep skiing, freeride skiing, ski touring, snowboarding, mountaineering, climbing, trail running and white water sports – reflects our multifaceted view of the mountains and the versatility of the gloves, socks and other heated equipment we develop."
Our paths also converge when it comes to our responsibility towards nature: "Like us, the festival promotes an approach that respects the environment. This commitment – which complements our shared values of passion and pushing ourselves beyond our limits – is reflected in the clear choices made in their film programming and echoes our concrete eco-responsible initiatives, including the Ecotech label and the reuse of second-hand outdoor technical equipment."
Finally, this affinity of values is reinforced by another type of proximity, this time geographical: ‘We are two players with strong local roots and involvement in the Grenoble area. Sharing the same roots inevitably helps to create meaning and facilitate the activation of this collaboration. It makes the adventure very human.’
"The affinity of values and geographical proximity make this partnership natural and authentic. "
Once again, it is Florence Destin, who initiated this collaboration, who explains Therm-ic's ambitions through this affiliation:
A concrete example of a solution highlighted during the festival? ‘Yes, the “layering system”! The famous “three-layer” method, but adapted to gloves, so you never have cold hands...’
"The success of a mountain adventure – whether you're an athlete seeking to achieve something extraordinary or an enthusiast looking for fun – depends largely on your thermal comfort.
Throughout the festival, we will be present at the Palais des Sports in Grenoble to meet visitors and enrich the unique experience they are about to enjoy.
Here is a comprehensive list of the various activities organised by Therm-ic:
Damien Cousquer, director of “Mission Montagne” in the city of Grenoble, welcomes an eclectic, committed, inspiring and multidisciplinary programme, covering skiing, trail running, climbing and adventure.
However, he identifies two highlights that he is particularly looking forward to: "Firstly, the screening of “One Step Ahead” on Wednesday 5th November. This documentary traces the life of Norwegian skier Bernt Marius who, after losing a leg in an accident, returns to his first love: skiing the great lines of the Sunnmøre Alps. Then there's the arrival of Benjamin Védrines – back from his historic first ascent of Jannu East in the Himalayas, a peak that had never been climbed before – for the presentation of his steep skiing film, “Draw a line”, in the Écrins massif, with his sidekick Nicolas Jean!"
